Never Let Yourself Be Taken For Granted

“Make sure you don’t start seeing yourself through the eyes of those who don’t value you. Know your worth even if they don’t.”

Being taken for granted is a terrible feeling specially if you are a genuinely nice person, few people start taking your kind, loving and respectful behavior as your weakness. They are always willing to take more from you but never seem to be grateful or admire you for all that you have done for them. You don’t get the love and attention you deserve.

People take you for granted because they know you love them and care about them. If they get upset, you will immediately try to make things right or change yourself according to their opinion by neglecting your own preferences. However, this allows them to play with your emotions. They never respect your space and boundaries. They feel regardless of what happens, you will be there for them and endure all the crap they throw at you.

Don’t let anyone take you for granted. Love and relationships are supposed to bring out the best in you, they should lift you higher and offer you the support you need to thrive. A healthy relationship will never demand you to sacrifice your dignity and self respect. Believe me, people always treat you the way you treat yourself. Just think how anyone can admire a person who doesn’t have a backbone..

If you don’t like someone’s behavior instead of feeling inferior make them realize that you value yourself and your worth doesn’t depend on them. They can’t keep treating you like an object. They have no right to steal your joy and energy. Set yourself free in order to restore your peace and shine on your own.

‘You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserves your love, affection and attention .’

  1. We let other people take us for granted because we love them more than ourselves… and I think that is the worst thing that we can do to ourselves… but when emotions control us we have the tendency to not think practically. It is important to learn to love yourself first before loving another person.
